Receptionist/Secretary

Our Parish is looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, a practicing Catholic, has exceptional interpersonal, communication, service-oriented and public relations skills and the ability to be a welcoming and professional presence in greeting and interacting with parishioners, visitors, and other members of the public. This position plays a key role in assisting the Pastor, Associate Pastors, other parish team members, and ministry leaders in meeting the needs of a very busy parish in a multi-cultural community.

The responsibilities of this position include a variety of secretarial duties, which include answering all incoming telephone calls, emails, typing of reports/letters as required; preparation and printing of the weekly Parish Bulletin and maintaining the weekly Prayers of the Faithful list; processing mail, stipends and mass offerings, booking of church meeting rooms and hall facilities for funerals, meetings, and for other approved church activities and events.

The individual should have a minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience and have completed administrative assistant/secretarial educational programs and/or courses in office management and have proven computer literacy and competency in Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint. Familiarity with other web site software/programs and telephone systems will be an asset. Strong written and verbal language ability are required, including a high level of grammar skills.

The salary range ($20-$24) for this benefit eligible and full-time position (35 hours per week) is commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. Proof of a recent (within the past 12 months) Police Information Check (PlC) will also be required.

The position is scheduled to begin in January.
