About The Event:

Mass for the World Day for Consecrated Life

The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord

Sunday, February 2, 2025, 11:30 AM

Corpus Christi Parish, Edmonton

The purpose of the day is “to help the entire Church to esteem ever more greatly the witness of those persons who have chosen to follow Christ by means of the practice of the evangelical counsels” as well as “to be a suitable occasion for consecrated persons to renew their commitment and rekindle the fervour which should inspire their offering of themselves to the Lord.” (Saint John Paul II, 1997).

On this year of Jubilee in the Universal Church, let us be pilgrims of hope as we celebrate our consecration to God as a people. In particular, let us celebrate Consecrated Life and those who live in this state of life through the vows or promises of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

The Vocations Awareness Committee invites you on February 2nd at Corpus Christi Parish (2707 34 St. NW Edmonton) during the 11:30AM mass to celebrate the World Day for Consecrated Life. The Eucharistic celebration will be followed by reception at the church hall, courtesy of Catholic Women’s League and Knights of Columbus.

The Council for Consecrated Life is hosting a special Mass to pray for and support those who live and serve the church in Consecrated Life.

You are invited to attend the 11:30 am Mass celebrated by Father Benoj Makkollil, CMI, Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish, to meet and support those who live the vocation of consecrated life.

We are asking Consecrated Men and Women to arrive by 10:45AM at the church due to limited seating.

Following Mass, there will be time to learn about the vocation and ministry of those serving in the Archdiocese of Edmonton.
