How can we live out the vision of the Vatican II document Ad gentes divinitis on the Church’s missionary activity and the Archbishop of Edmonton’s third pastoral priority, Witness? We propose that the charism of the Dominican Order, “To contemplate and to share with others the fruits of our contemplation,” is a gift for the whole Church and that the specific contributions of St Thomas Aquinas can guide contemporary believers to both grow in enlightenment and to illumine others with the indwelling Christ and his love.

Fr Hysell is a presbyter of the Archdiocese of Edmonton, is a professed member of the Dominican Clerical Fraternity (Province of St Albert the Great, USA), pastor of St Emeric Catholic Hungarian Parish and St Mark’s Community of the Deaf, and serves as a lecturer on the Faculty of Systematics at Newman Theological College.
