Mission Collaboration Initiative

Look closely at this AI-generated image. It is not just a logo for this summit. It serves as an example of both the promise and the problems that come with using artificial intelligence.

Join us for the 5th Annual Mission Collaboration Initiative (MCI) Summit, a gathering of Catholic leaders and influencers from across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

Hosted by the Bishops of Alberta, MCI fosters collaboration in anticipating societal challenges and elevating the Catholic perspective in response to these challenges.

This year’s summit will explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) through a Catholic lens.

It will ask participants to navigate the philosophical, theological and practical dimensions and its impact on Catholic works. What guidance does the Church give with respect to its understanding and use?

It will be important for the Church locally to be well versed in AI from a faith perspective in order to engage our local culture on it.

Together, we will build a shared understanding of current priorities, opportunities, and challenges, ensuring that our Catholic mission remains vibrant and relevant in an evolving world.

Your insights and participation are vital in shaping the MCI Working Group’s focus. See you there!
