About The Event:
Every year, Catholic youth ministry leaders and high school campus ministers from across the country gather in Chattanooga, TN for a unique event…This year, for the first time, we will also gather in Edmonton!
- It’s not a conference – there’s no keynotes or workshops.
- It’s not a retreat – it’s focused on taking action in your ministry.
- It’s Thriveanooga – a highly-relational and truly interactive event created by Catholic ministry leaders for Catholic ministry leaders.
Thriveanooga really is like no other event you’ve ever been to:
It’s COLLABORATIVE.
Rather than relying on “big name experts”, Thriveanooga leverages the skills, wisdom, and experience from everyone in the room. Rather than keynotes and lectures, the day is filled with collaborative sessions where participants work together to create action-oriented solutions to real world ministry problems.
It’s CREATIVE.
Thriveanooga is not about cookie cutter solutions. It’s about pushing the envelope, challenging conventions, and dreaming up creative and innovative solutions. To make that possible, each day is structured to give time and space for creative thinking and group brainstorming sessions.
It’s CROWD-SOURCED.
The ProjectYM team doesn’t pick the topics to be covered at Thriveanooga, the participants do! After you register, you’ll get to suggest topics for conversation. Based on upvotes from all the registered attendees, they choose the most requested topics and build the content for the event around those.
It’s COMMUNITY ORIENTED.
More than anything else, Thriveanooga is about community. Youth ministry can be lonely at times. Thriveanooga was created to help leaders build real, in-person community. The schedule, the format, and the venue were intentionally chosen venues to foster that community.
It’s far too easy to get lost in the sea of people at a big conference – that won’t happen at Thriveanooga. Thriveanooga is intentionally small – you’ll know everyone’s name (and their story) by the time you leave.
It’s CONSTRUCTIVE.
When you head home from Thriveanooga, you won’t be leaving empty handed. Throughout the week, participants will be building innovative solutions together. You’ll be able to take back these solutions and implement them in your ministry right away and make real change (it’s more than just talking theory).
It’s CATHOLIC.
Everything ProjectYM does is rooted in the Catholic faith – Thriveanooga is no different. There’s dedicated time to pray, worship, and celebrate the Sacraments together. The community at Thriveanooga includes clergy and Catholic worship leaders.
“I have never felt so fed and inspired and seen in my ten years of ministry. At Thriveanooga, I found companions on this road of ministry who’ve lived the same experiences as me. The solidarity and support is second to none. The opportunity to be poured into rather than being the sole person pouring into others was invaluable.” (Megan Moore – Archdiocese of Dubuque)
