Serge Buissé to be ordained to transitional diaconate

We are pleased to announce that Serge Buissé who is studying for the diocesan priesthood at St. Joseph Seminary will be ordained as transitional deacon on August 4th.

The transitional diaconate is the last phase of formation for a seminarian. As an ordained deacon, he can baptize, witness marriages, preside at funeral services outside of Mass, and preach the homily at Mass.

Serge Buissé, 27 is from East Selkirk, Manitoba, and is studying for the Archdiocese of St. Boniface.

Serge entered St. Joseph Seminary in September 2014. He is finishing-up his Internship year at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens in Saint Boniface before returning to St. Joseph Seminary this fall.

Serge Buissé’s Mass of Ordination, presided by Archbishop Albert LeGatt, will be held on August 4, 2021.at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. Alberta time) at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Parish.
