Do you feel called to religious life?
There is an enormous range of opportunities to live your faith through the calling to religious life. Consecrated persons in the Archdiocese are members of many different orders, each with their own missions and purposes.
Since the arrival of Oblate Priests and the Sisters of Charity of Montreal (Grey Nuns) in the mid-1800s, consecrated persons of many different communities have helped to sow the seeds of the Gospel and tend to a variety of needs of the people in the Archdiocese of Edmonton.
Communities of men and women religious were vital to the establishment of parishes, hospitals, schools, orphanages and homes for the aged across the Archdiocese. They continue to be active and needed today and in the future, in parish life, pastoral care, spiritual direction, health care and education. Consecrated life is one of profound self-donation to the Lord by the profession of the three evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience.
