Youth & Young Adults

Empowering Young People to Live the Gospel.

Youth Evangelization

“Dear young men and women, in Christ you find fulfilled your every desire for goodness and happiness. He alone can satisfy your deepest longings, which are so often clouded by deceptive worldly promises.”

– Pope Francis, Message for World Youth Day 2015

The mission of Youth Evangelization is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ into the lives of youth and young adults of the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton — into their families, schools, communities and, through the workings of the Holy Spirit, to convert them and society by the power and message of the Gospel itself.

What We Do

This ministry is meant to help develop and maintain youth and young adult evangelization in your parish or setting.

  • To offer formative training and retreats for people involved in this ministry.
  • To supplement your parish ministry by organizing Archdiocesan-wide events such as the Archdiocesan Youth Rally, World Youth Day and Western Canada Catholic Youth Conference.
  • To work for the future of the church by operating youth summer camps.
  • To be members of the Canadian Catholic Youth Ministry Network (CCYMN) and the Western Canadian Association of Catholic Youth Ministers (WCACYM) in order to stay connected with other ministry coordinators across Canada and benefit from shared ideas and resources.
  • To assist you in organizing an event for youth or young adults.
  • To promote youth and young adult evangelization.

Catholic Young Adults of Edmonton

We hope that together we can develop a vibrant and welcoming community. The Catholic Young Adults of Edmonton (C-YEG for short) promotes events run by us and other organizations for those who are thirsting for a faith community in the Church! C-YEG was born out of a great desire to have a citywide space for young adults to gather.

We come from all over, grow in faith together through fellowship, and experience who Jesus says we are and calls us to be. We then return to our communities stronger and with greater purpose. What began as a small group of eight people planning a few events quickly grew into a vibrant movement — because young adults need community, and we need you to be part of it!

Young adults are invited to the C-YEG Mass every third Sunday of the month at Resurrection Parish at 4:00 p.m. Confessions are available from 3:15 p.m. Come for Mass, stay for community, and bring a friend!
