13 October 1917 marks the final and most famous apparition of Our Lady of Fátima in Fátima, Portugal, where an estimated 70,000 people witnessed the miraculous “Miracle of the Sun”. The Virgin Mary identified herself as the “Lady of the Rosary,” asking for repentance, daily prayer of the Rosary, and the building of a chapel on the site.
