Three priests in the Archdiocese of Edmonton are celebrating 25 years of priesthood.
Father Murray David Kuemper has been a part of the formation team at St. Joseph Seminary since 2022. Born in Yorkton, Sask., he attended St. Pius X Seminary in Saskatoon and St. Peter’s Seminary in London Ont. Father Murray was ordained June 19, 1998 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Saskatoon by Bishop James V. Weisgerber.
From 1998-2006, Father Murray was pastor at various parishes in the Diocese of Saskatoon. He joined the Madonna House Apostolate, and made Final Promises in 2015. He was a lecturer and seminary spiritual director at St. Peter’s Seminary until he joined the Madonna House community formation in 2020.
Father Maciej Pajak, OMI, has been pastor of Our Lady, Queen of Poland parish in Edmonton for the past year. Prior to that he was a pastor in Katowice, Poland; Toronto; Melville, Sask.; Mississauga, Ont., and Winnipeg. Born in Turek, Wielkopolska, Poland, Father Maciej attended the Pontifical Faculty of Faculty of Theology in Poznan, Poland. He was ordained on June, 20, 1998.
Father Philip A. Creurer is the pastor of Resurrection and Assumption parishes in Edmonton. He is also the judicial vicar for the Archdiocese of Edmonton and the Interdiocesan Tribunal of Edmonton (Edmonton and Calgary offices). He is also a sessional lecturer in canon law at Newman Theological College.
Born in Melfort, Sask., he attended the International Seminary of St. Peter in Wigratzbad, Opfenbach Germany. Father Philip was ordained on June 27, 1998 at Notre-Dame Basilica, Ottawa, by Most Rev. Marcel Gervais for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). Father Philip served as a lawyer prior to answering the call to the priesthood. He is also published author (Ivan the Giant, 2019)
Father Philip served as Chaplain Priest for the FSSP, primarily at Holy Spirit in New Westminster, B.C. and St. Clement in Ottawa, FSSP Chaplain Priest for the Vital Grandin Chaplaincy. Father Creurer is the dean of the Edmonton South deanery of parishes and vice-chair of the Presbyteral Council Executive.
