On February 11th and 12th, Archbishop Smith made an episcopal visit to the parishes of Stettler, Castor and Bashaw in the south-eastern part of our Archdiocese.
The return of episcopal parish visits is met with much joy, as these visits had been paused since the beginning of the pandemic and the events of the Papal visit.
February 11th was World Day of the Sick as well as being the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. In honor of the day, His Grace spent hours administering the Sacrament of the Sick to patients and individuals in care in both hospitals and senior care centers throughout all three of the communities he visited.
Archbishop Smith met with local parish financial councils, the Stettler parish council and shared wonderful meals with generous local parishioners.
Thank you to Father Roger Niedzielski – pastor for Stettler, Castor and Bashaw – for hosting the Archbishop within his parish community and to all the individuals who welcomed his Grace into their homes, parish and places of work!
