Statement of Archbishop Richard W. Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton
Regarding the Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimage 2022
Dear Friends in Christ,
For the past two years, we have been unable to gather in person for our beloved Lac Ste. Anne pilgrimage on account of health restrictions imposed on us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, as we all get used to living with the ongoing situation of COVID-19, we hope this year to resume our traditional practice of gathering in-person for the pilgrimage.
The dates for this year’s annual Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimage are July 26-29, 2022. Please help us in publicizing these dates within your respective families and parish communities.
A lot of planning needs to happen in the next few months to ensure the success of the pilgrimage. Among other things, many volunteers will be needed in a variety of areas and capacities, to help with planning, organizing and realizing the pilgrimage. Details concerning roles and opportunities will be communicated as they become available.
In the meantime, let’s give thanks to God for the abundance of blessings that have come to us throughout these past two years of virtual pilgrimage. We continue to pray for any who may be ill with the virus or any disease, for their families and all who care for them. We continue to seek the intercession of Good Ste. Anne, who has a special love for us, and we for her.
I look forward to celebrating the pilgrimage with you in person this year.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Richard W. Smith
