Baptism
Baptism serves as the first sacrament one receives when entering the Catholic faith.
Baptism, along with Confirmation and Eucharist, is one of three Sacraments of Initiation, which means that the Baptized receive an indelible spiritual mark, making them forever a part of the Body of Christ, the Church.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that “through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God, we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission…” (CCC 1213).
To initiate the process of preparing for a Baptism, begin by contacting your local parish office or local parish priest to receive more details on beginning the process. Baptism preparation classes are offered at local parishes.
