World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope celebrated every few years in a different country. The most recent WYD took place in Lisbon, Portugal from August 1–6, 2023. The next World Youth Day will be held in Seoul, South Korea, most likely in the summer of 2027.

WYD is open to all young people who desire a joyful encounter centered on Jesus Christ together with peers from around the world. It offers a profound opportunity to experience the universality of the Church, celebrate our shared faith, and grow closer to Christ through prayer, catechesis, and the sacraments— alongside hundreds of thousands of young Catholics.
