Hope & Dignity: A Catholic Response to Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide

FEATURED EVENT

Admission: Free

Come learn how to articulate the evil of assisted suicide, how to approach this matter with truth and compassion, and how to advocate for change.

Few people could have anticipated the full implications of legalizing euthanasia in Canada. 7 years later, there are growing concerns about the expanding scope of euthanasia, the lack of protections for people experiencing vulnerability, and the long-term effects on the ethics of the medical system. As disturbing as these developments are, they point to a larger problem – a national crisis of meaning. Only faith provides an antidote to this cultural malaise. In this presentation, Deacon Larry Worthen will explain the recent evolution of euthanasia policy in Canada and its impact on human dignity. He will describe the role that churches can play in restoring the perceived value of every human life.
