• Listening to Hear: Engaging the Literary Arts as a Spiritual Practice

Star of the North Retreat Centre 3A St. Vital Avenue, Saint Albert, AB, Canada

Poems are often mysterious things. They can confound and confuse. And yet, because mystery is often embedded in poems, they are rife with material for contemplative practice. In these four sessions, we will explore a few poems using a modified lectio divina. Following this activity, we will have an opportunity for personal poetry writing, using simple structures and easily accessible writing prompts. Sharing is completely optional. Each session will introduce a different poetic form and writing prompts. No experience with poetry reading/writing is necessary to benefit from these sessions.
