Lenten-Easter Journey with St. Ignatius of Loyola
Zoom , CanadaLent is a time to deepen our relationship with God and broaden our response to the needs of others. Join companions in this spiritual practice over eight weeks, beginning just after Ash Wednesday and concluding two weeks after Easter. Our resource will be Tim Muldoon’s The Ignatian Workout for Lent, in which he reminds us that “we don’t make ourselves spiritual people by working hard” but rather by “removing obstacles to God’s grace.” This intentional spiritual journey will include a daily scripture passage (gospel texts from the Passion and Easter stories), accompanied by a brief reflection, written prayer, and call to action (Monday-Friday). It will be supported by a bi-weekly facilitated group time of communal prayer and sharing online and an hour-long one-on-one spiritual direction session online on alternate weeks. Note: Participants are responsible for acquiring their own books. Facilitated by Faith Nostbakken and Carol Sebastian February 23 – April 18, 2026 4 biweekly group gatherings (via Zoom): Monday, Feb, 23, Mar. 9, 23, & Apr 6, 7:00-8:30 pm 4 biweekly spiritual direction sessions (via Zoom) as individually scheduled Space is limited, register early.

Listening to Hear: Engaging the Literary Arts as a Spiritual Practice
Star of the North Retreat Centre 3A St. Vital Avenue, Saint Albert, AB, CanadaPoems are often mysterious things. They can confound and confuse. And yet, because mystery is often embedded in poems, they are rife with material for contemplative practice. In these four sessions, we will explore a few poems using a modified lectio divina. Following this activity, we will have an opportunity for personal poetry writing, using simple structures and easily accessible writing prompts. Sharing is completely optional. Each session will introduce a different poetic form and writing prompts. No experience with poetry reading/writing is necessary to benefit from these sessions.
