Catholic Education Week Oct. 19-25: Celebrate and Advocate

16 October 2024

As Albertans, we offer joyful thanksgiving for the gift of Catholic education. More than 180,000 students are educated in Catholic schools across Alberta.

We give thanks for Catholic education, where students learn about the dignity of all persons, created in the image of God and called to live in Christ in this life and in the life to come. Our Catholic Schools continue to nurture relationships of faith, hope and charity among students, parents and teachers.

Catholic Schools in Alberta are fully funded by the province and constitutionally protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We should never take that for granted. The 2024 theme of Catholic Education Week in Alberta is Testify! Share the reason for your Hope! We encourage you to celebrate Catholic education.
