St. Charles Catholic Parish is seeking a dependable and organized Part-Time (average of 10 hours per week) Facility Manager to assist the Pastor in overseeing the maintenance, upkeep, and security of parish buildings, grounds, and the rectory.

Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor custodial maintenance contractors and external service providers
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance plan
  • Maintain an inventory of assets for the church and rectory
  • Maintain maintenance records and update maintenance tracking spreadsheets
  • Obtain proposals and estimates for maintenance and repair work
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for parish facilities
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments to support the safety and security of clergy, staff, and parishioners
  • Report maintenance concerns and issues to the Finance/Maintenance Committee
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of the parish rectory to identify maintenance needs
  • Develop and maintain a volunteer list for individuals with maintenance-related skills and coordinate volunteer work as appropriate
  • Perform minor repairs beyond the scope of maintenance contractors when required
  • Assist in preparing the annual maintenance, purchasing, and contracting budget in collaboration with the Maintenance Committee and/or Finance Team
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance-related experience
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Employment Details

  • Approximately 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling
  • Wage: $20/hour
  • Mileage reimbursement provided when using a personal vehicle
  • Successful applicant must attend a Called to Protect Workshop and sign confidentiality and Code of Ethics agreements

All employees are required to undergo a Police Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Information Check and an Intervention Record Check.
