Fr. Thomas Puthupparampil celebrates 35 years of priesthood

Rev. Thomas Puthupparampil marks a significant milestone this year in his ongoing ministry. Since December 1, 2012, he has served as Chaplain at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and other health facilities on an on-call basis, providing spiritual care, comfort, and support to patients, families, and staff.

In addition, since July 5, 2013, he has faithfully served as Dominical Vicar of St. Rose of Lima in Onoway, Our Lady of Lourdes in Lac La Nonne, and St. Joseph in Wabamun, where he continues to provide pastoral leadership, sacramental guidance, and nurturing of the faith community. These roles reflect his enduring dedication to supporting both parishioners and those in need of compassionate care in healthcare settings.

Ordained on December 28, 1990 at St. Mary Malankara Cathedral in Vayalathala, India, by Most Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorios, Archbishop of Trivandrum, Rev. Thomas has devoted his life to shepherding the faithful and fostering vibrant faith communities.

Born on May 8, 1962, in Vayalathala, Kerala, India, Rev. Thomas felt a calling to the priesthood early in life. Over the years, he has served communities across India and Canada, including roles as Associate Pastor at St. Joseph’s Basilica and Pastor of St. Mary’s Syro-Malankara Church, where his leadership and guidance left a lasting impact.

Throughout his ministry, Rev. Thomas has inspired parishioners and those discerning vocations, demonstrating how responding to God’s call transforms lives. His devotion in both parish and hospital settings stands as a testament to faith, compassion, and dedicated service.

The communities he serves honor his unwavering commitment and the countless ways he enriches lives through faith, guidance, and pastoral care.

Lord, send holy and generous men to serve Your Church as faithful priests.
Grant them courage to answer Your call and perseverance to follow it with joy.
