A memorial Mass for the repose of the soul of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, will be held on Friday, April 25 at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Basilica.
Archbishop Richard Smith will be the celebrant. Mass will be livestreamed on Facebook (facebook.com/archedmonton/live at the scheduled time) and YouTube.
In Vatican City, Pope Francis’ funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 10 a.m. local time (2 a.m. MST) in St. Peter’s Square.
Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, dean of the College of Cardinals, will preside at the Mass, which will be concelebrated by patriarchs, cardinals, archbishops, bishops, and priests from across the globe. The late pope’s body will then be taken into St. Peter’s Basilica and then to the Basilica of St. Mary Major for entombment.
