Responses for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Sept 29, 2021 Window responses)
From Christine Foisy-Erickson:
I really appreciated receiving the Windows message with all of the National Day of T and R updates and links. I am very proud to see our Church acknowledging this and participating actively in this most important journey of healing with our aboriginal brothers and sisters.
May Our Lady of Guadalupe keep us close.
Her words to the native St Juan Diego ring true still today: “ I am the merciful mother of ALL of you UNITED in this land… of those who cry to me, of those who seek me, of those who trust me. I will listen to their weeping and sadness and remedy, cleanse and nurse all their troubles, miseries and suffering.”
Assured of God’s tenderness through his emissary (the Blessed Mother) may we all, aboriginal and non aboriginal , find courage to move forward one day at a time.
Thank you for keeping us well informed.
Share with us your guardian angel story (Sept 22, 2021 Window responses)
From Bill Lavelle
When I was a bush pilot, one time as I was about to land at a small airstrip and only about one hundred feet above the ground, my airplane suddenly snapped upside down and I was looking up at the runway. I was not in a state of grace. I reacted by applying full power and full flight control input. Blank memory here.
I next became aware of my situation as the airplane made a soft three point landing at the beginning of the runway and I realized that I needed to close the throttle.
If you wish I could write the full story for you.
From Paul Flaman
About 25 years ago my wife and I with our children were driving overnight from Edmonton to have a short visit with my parents and family in Saskatchewan. When I was driving and everyone else in the car was sleeping on a section of the road with two-way traffic all of a sudden a persistent thought came into my mind, “Drive Defensively, Drive Defensively!” I knew this meant to watch out for any mistake another driver may make. The car coming toward me I then noticed was driving on the wrong side of the road coming toward us at full speed in our lane. I pulled over to my side of the road and the car went by us at full speed. If I had not pulled over we would have had a terrible head-on collision. The thought then went through my mind that the warning was from my guardian angel. Praise God for often working his providential care through his angels and ours.
