The Foundation of St. Joseph Seminary & Newman Theological College was established to carry out all activities dedicated to the advancement of the Seminary and College, and their long-term financial viability.

The Foundation is offering an exciting opportunity for a Special Events Coordinator (Contract); this is a temporary flex-time position for a 5-month contract ending on or around June 30, 2026. There is a strong likelihood the contract will be extended until April 30, 2027.

The number of hours and schedule are flexible but will include some evenings/weekends and travel within and outside the Edmonton area as required.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

Reporting to the Executive Director and may include, but is not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special fundraising events of the Foundation (Newman Golf Classic, etc.).
  • Secure new donors and sponsorships, while maintaining existing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and generate reports on budgets, logistics, timelines, performance and communications.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor/Diploma) in Events Planning, Marketing, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with successful events planning in a not-for-profit environment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with donor/sponsorship acquisition and fundraising is preferred.
  • Excellent computer proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential materials and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as the situation dictates.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transport is required.
