SUMMARY:National Family & Life Week
DESCRIPTION:“I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20) Christ’s words at the time of his Ascension serve as this year’s theme for National Family and Life Week 2026\, which begins on Sunday\, May 10\, and concludes on Sunday\, May 17. \nFamilies\, parishes and parish groups\, ecclesial movements and associations\, as well as Catholic schools\, are encouraged to take time this week to celebrate their own families\, express gratitude\, offer forgiveness\, or share meaningful moments with loved ones across generations. This week is an opportunity to uphold the value of life and to live out our calling to love one another within our homes\, communities\, and the world. \nMay Christ’s enduring presence bring us consolation\, hope and renewal\, as we journey with him in prayer and through the Sacraments\, in the knowledge that we are never truly alone. God is with us always “to the end of the age.” \nAdditional Resources from the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops

SUMMARY:Treaty Talks In Honor of the 150th Anniversary of the Signing of Treaty Six
DESCRIPTION:This time together invites us to understand the history and impact of treaties with First Nations peoples – not as distant events\, but as agreements that continue to shape our lives today. Together\, we examine our shared responsibility and consider practical steps toward truth and reconciliation. This session offers a compassionate space to listen\, learn\, and discover how each of us can contribute to healing and right relationships in our communities. \nHarry Lafond leads with love and a fierce\, questioning intellect. So when he was introduced to the spirituality of his ancestors\, he retained his love of the Catholic church and its teachings — though not all of its practices. \nHarry is currently working as the Indigenous Education Scholar at University of Saskatchewan – St. Thomas More College. He also has worked with the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and as the executive director at the Office of Treaty Commissioner. Harry’s experience\, education\, and empathy are evident whenever he presents. \n \nREGISTER AT https://www.starofthenorth.ca/register/browse/programs-2/event/treaty-talks-399/

SUMMARY:Men's Prayer Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:Forming men through the Archdiocesan Pastoral Priorities\nThe world needs courageous men to witness to Jesus Christ\, men need authentic brotherhood\, and families need holy husbands and fathers. \nTo help address these needs\, Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Assembly #5 is hosting “Come and Have Breakfast” (John 12-21)\, a Men’s Prayer Breakfast in Edmonton\, on Saturday\, June 20th. \nALL men of ALL ages are invited to this pre-vacation ‘pitstop’\, embracing COR principles and the Archdiocesan Pastoral Priorities: \n\nRefocus Catholic men on Jesus Christ\nFormation for Eucharistic Worship\nFormation for Confident Witness\nFormation for Service to Families & Marriage\n\nConsistent with Dr. Ryan Topping’s message: “If You Want Vocations\, Rebuild Catholic Culture” the Event is dedicated to fostering an environment where men can sharpen their worship toolkit\, build fellowship\, and enjoy a hearty hot breakfast buffet together.
