We are currently seeking a part time (21 hours/week) Bookkeeper to join the Catholic Parish of Corpus Christi, located in Edmonton.
Reporting directly to the Pastor, this position plays a key role in bookkeeping functions and financial transactions of the parish and to prepare the related monthly and yearly financial statements/reports.
Duties:
Accounts Payables and Receivables
- Entering of Regular, Building & Special Collections into Sage Accounting
- Entering of all Fundraising Deposits into Sage Accounting
- Entering of Moneris Transactions and e-Transfer Reports into Sage Accounting
- Tracking and posting of deposits for Sacramental Preparation Offerings
- Preparation and Processing of Pre-Authorized donations
- Processing Operating, Building and Fundraising Payables
- Filing of Receivables and Payables
Financial Reporting and Administration
- Complete monthly Bank Reconciliations
- Financial Reports for Finance Committee and Archdiocese
- Fundraising Event Income/Expense Reports
- Statistical Reports on parishioner donations and fundraising
- Preparation of Reporting for Parish Bulletin, Website, Parishioners
- Working with Count room Operations personnel
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years prior experience in office management or administrative environment
- Proficient in office software applications: Sage Accounting, Parish Friendly, Excel, Word
- Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff and volunteers in financial organization of fundraising ventures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
- Comfortable navigating relationships with external agencies and professionals
- Experience in team management with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and processes is preferred.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, particularly in handling sensitive and personal information.
