Newman Theological College is pleased to present the 2017 Anthony Jordan Lecture Series, co-sponsored by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, on Friday-Saturday, March 3-4.

This year's presenter is Hans Boersma, who will speak on the theme "Real Presence: An Ecumenical Perspective." 

Dr. Boersma is a Professor of Theology at Regent College at the University of British Columbia. He also served as a Christian Reformed pastor for several years and is the author of several books, including the most recent in 2016, Sacramental Preaching: Sermons on the Hidden Presence of Christ. Among Dr. Boersma's main theological interests are Catholic thought, the Church fathers, and spiritual interpretation of Scripture.

This lecture series is dedicated to the memory of Most Rev. Anthony Jordan, OMI, who served as Archbishop of Edmonton from 1964 to 1973. Archbishop Jordan was responsible for founding Newman Theological College (NTC), which opened its doors in 1969 for the theological education of seminarians, religious men and women and laity in the wake of the renewed ecclesiology of Vatican II.
