Gearing up for WYD2016
A four-time pilgrim to World Youth Day has been appointed to coordinate pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Edmonton who will travel to Kraków, Poland, for WYD 2016.
Simon Bamburak, 28, is a native of Poland and active member of Holy Rosary Parish in Edmonton. He has been appointed by Archbishop Richard Smith to a part-time position as Archdiocesan Coordinator of World Youth Day Kraków 2016, serving in the Department of Pastoral and Parish Services.
Simon (pictured left during WYD in Rio) is currently employed as Program Coordinator for Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta & NWT, and prior to that, he served as an Assistant in the Archives of the Archdiocese.
"I am tremendously happy to take on the opportunity and help lead Edmonton's youth to Poland," he said. "And looking forward to working with parishes and all the youth leaders."
Archbishop Smith is looking forward to seeing a large group of WYD pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Edmonton join Pope Francis in Kraków in July 2016.
