Since 1922, the Pontifical Mission Societies have been the official missionary arm of the Church, charged with the work of evangelization and charitable works throughout the world. The societies are under the jurisdiction of the Vatican Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples (Nations).
They encourage the work of mission, prayer and financial support for evangelization throughout the world. In the poorest mission churches and dioceses around the globe, they offer help for pastoral and evangelizing programs, for catechists and catechetical work, for building churches and chapels, for the work of religious communities in health care and education, and for communication and transportation needs.
Your gift to the Together We Serve appeal will make a difference to the work of the Church in mission dioceses where resources are scarce.
Offices for Pontifical Missions in Canada are located in Toronto and Montreal . The National Director for English-speaking Canada is Rev. Alex Osei, CSSp.
