The Office of Missions exists to:
- To create a greater awareness of mission needs at home and abroad throughout the Archdiocese, especially in the parishes and Catholic schools.
- To promote ongoing education of clergy and laity in the theology of mission and knowledge of and support for the work of the Church in mission countries today.
- To co-operate with the National Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies and other mission organizations, especially religious Congregations of the Archdiocese that have personnel working in the missions.
Activities are conducted primarily through the Archdiocesan Mission Council which is comprised of representatives from the following communities: Council of Priests, Council of Consecrated Women, The Catholic Women's League, The Knights of Columbus, Edmonton Catholic Schools and Members at Large.

Holy Father's Missionary Intention
That children and young people may be messengers of the Gospel and that their dignity may always be respected and preserved from all violence and exploitation.
Let us pray: God our Father, grant your Spirit of wisdom to our young people so that they may be authentic witnesses to your love in the world. We ask you to preserve them from all evil and violence and that they will be respected in their dignity of children of God. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
